About Us
In 1999, four compassionate friends came together with a shared vision to introduce palliative care in Nepal. Witnessing the struggles of patients with advanced cancer who had no access to specialized care, they took the first step. With immense dedication and personal sponsorship, they established a modest four-bed palliative care unit within a private hospital, offering free services to those in need.

Mr. Om Rajbhandary
President
He is a socially driven entrepreneur and mentor, actively involved in organizations like Hospice Nepal and the Rotary Club of Kasthamandap. As Executive Chairman of Brihat Group, he has led transformative housing projects across Nepal. A former president of Nepal Ambulance Service, he also supports startups, helping them grow through innovation and strategic guidance.
Dr. Pradeep Vaidya
Immediate Past President
He is a Professor of Surgery at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital and a leading figure in palliative care and disaster risk management. Through national and international training programs, he equips healthcare professionals with critical skills. He served as President of the Nepalese Society of Gastroenterology and Nepal Ambulance Service, contributing significantly to medical care and emergency services in Nepal.
Dr. Paras Kumar Acharya
Vice President
He is a Professor of Internal Medicine and Registrar at Patan Academy of Health Sciences, with a notable background in medical education and leadership. As the Founding Vice Chancellor of Karnali Academy of Health Sciences, he played a key role in its development. He also serves as Vice President of Nepal Ambulance Service, contributing to the advancement of emergency medical services in Nepal.
Mr. Sajjan BS Thapa

With 25 years of experience, he has built a distinguished legal career specializing in corporate law, commercial matters, and economic regulations. Educated in India and the USA, he offers strategic counsel through his own law firm, serving both domestic and international clients with expertise in complex legal issues.
Mr. Sailesh Vaidya
Treasurer
With over 20 years of experience across banking, manufacturing, project management, and healthcare finance, he is a seasoned industry leader. As Executive Director of Tizig Pharma Pvt. Ltd., Nepal’s first oncology pharmaceutical manufacturer, he is advancing cancer care. He also actively contributes to the community through his involvement with Rotary and Hospice Nepal.
Prof. Dr. Rajesh N Gongal

He is a Professor of Surgery and Palliative care physician at Patan Academy of Health Sciences ( PAHS) where he served as Founding Dean of School of Medicine, then as Rector and finally as Vice-Chancellor contributing to Health Professional Education in the country. He was the Founding President of Hospice Nepal, Nepal Ambulance Service (NAS) and Primary Trauma Care Nepal.
Ms. Purnima Rajbhandary

She is the Executive Director of Brihat Group, with a strong background in real estate and financial management. Formerly a Senior Manager at Ace Development Bank, she brings valuable leadership experience to the industry. Her affiliations include international organizations such as the Nick Simons Foundation, Two Worlds Cancer Collaboration Foundation, and Health Exchange Nepal, reflecting her global engagement and commitment to social impact.
